Final Night at Dubai Fashion Week 2026 Belongs to Manish Malhotra

The Worldwide Influence of Manish Malhotra’s Fashion Creations

Manish Malhotra has built a style that speaks across generations and borders. While his work is deeply tied to Indian craftsmanship, it has never felt limited by geography. His designs draw from a wider global sensibility, allowing them to resonate far beyond their point of origin.

From Bollywood to the World

Long before global recognition became a measure of success, Malhotra was already shaping how luxury fashion was seen in India. He dressed some of Bollywood’s most influential figures, including Rekha, Sridevi, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

At the same time, his work found a younger audience and began reaching international circles. Over the years, his designs have been worn by global names such as Jennifer Lopez, Naomi Campbell, and Kim Kardashian, reinforcing his place on the world stage.

Closing Dubai Fashion Week 2026

It felt natural for Malhotra to close Dubai Fashion Week 2026. His final showcase, titled Inaya The India Story, revisited traditional Indian craftsmanship through a modern lens shaped for a global audience.

The collection reflected his ability to honour heritage while keeping pace with contemporary fashion, confirming his continued relevance in an international setting.

A Familiar Face on the Runway

Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon brought the collection to life as the showstopper. She appeared in a crisp white look highlighted with flowing pearls. A long-time collaborator and muse, Sanon has frequently chosen Malhotra’s designs, including for her sister Nupur Sanon’s wedding celebrations.

Redefining the Showstopper

When asked what makes a Manish Malhotra showstopper today, the designer made it clear that fame alone is no longer enough. He shared that he is drawn to women who are accomplished, grounded, and confident.

For him, the ideal muse blends tradition with a modern outlook and carries herself with quiet assurance on the runway.

Dubai’s Creative Influence

Malhotra also spoke about his connection to Dubai, describing the city as one that understands craftsmanship, luxury, and timeless style. His relationship with the emirate extends beyond fashion week.

In 2023, he opened his flagship store in The Dubai Mall, a move that strengthened the link between Indian couture and the Middle East’s appreciation for refined design.

Thinking Beyond a Single Collection

Reflecting on how ideas form and grow, Malhotra explained that his outlook has evolved with time. He no longer sees himself only as a designer, but as the head of a brand supported by a large creative team.

His work now reflects a broader vision shaped by scale, responsibility, and global presence, from India to the Middle East and beyond.

A Collection with Range

That broader mindset was visible in the variety of pieces on the runway. The collection included abayas, gowns, tailored blazers, and reimagined saris, alongside a growing focus on accessories such as bags and belts.

A Tradition of Grand Closings

After delivering a high-profile finale in 2025 featuring international models, Malhotra continued his tradition of glamour in 2026. His closing show brought Dubai Fashion Week to an opulent, confident close, reinforcing his place as a designer with lasting global appeal.
