Etihad Airways Suspends Regular Services

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE, suspended regular operations until 14:00 local time (10:00 GMT). There were some unscheduled departures on Monday including one evening flight that successfully arrived at London Heathrow. Etihad flights reportedly took off for cities like Moscow, Paris, Cairo, Delhi and Karachi. The airline clarified that only repositioning services will operate, in coordination with UAE authorities and subject to safety approval; all scheduled passenger services remain unavailable at this time.

What Should Passengers Who Are Affected Do??

Though departures from the UAE remain limited, many travelers remain stuck there. Emirates has advised their customers that only select flights will operate, with priority being given to passengers with cancelled bookings; affected travelers will be contacted directly. Advised against going directly to the airport without first receiving confirmation of their flight reservation. Etihad Airways announced their regular flights will be suspended until Wednesday and advised passengers to check online their booking details for updates. Qatar Airways confirmed full suspension of services with further updates promised shortly.
